Just Sing

"O, Sing unto the LORD a new song; for he has done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victoryPsalm 98:1, KJV

Let me be honest, I love to sing. Ask my family, closest friends, or even acquaintances. Now, I have never been trained to sing professionally, but I have had the opportunity to exhibit my voice in front of large audiences. There is just something about lifting your voice and allowing the notes to rest on your soul. As the Psalmist said, “O sing unto the Lord a new song;…”
Psalm 96:1. Day by day, we can have a new song in our hearts, inviting the Holy Spirit to rest on our spirits. He can help us overcome any mental or physical challenges, hardships, or disappointments. These problems could disappear with just a few notes of, “How Great Thou Art”, or “Onward Christian Soldier”.

The Lord has said in His word, “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5. This is cause for singing. However, some may feel that they don’t have a voice that others may want to listen to. But, I challenge them to read the Scriptures, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord,…” Psalm 98:4, Psalm 100.

As we enter this new season where we witness changes like the color of the leaves, feel blessed to know that our Father in heaven never changes. His love for us is ever present. He wants to hear our songs of praise and even lament. The words would be heartfelt and reflect our trust in His power, mercy, and glory. The notes don’t even have to be audible. Our God hears our silent songs.
